Building Communities Where Equality Thrives
The gender platform and champions approach empowers trained leaders—both men and women—to challenge harmful stereotypes, promote dignity, and inspire gender-transformative change within their communities. Through community dialogues, awareness activities, and committed leadership, this model influences behaviors, attitudes, and even policy. With support from partners like CARE and AWO International, COVOID has advanced this work by promoting gender equality and preventing GBV through household dialogues that strengthen women’s financial empowerment, community barazas, youth and women-led campaigns, home visits, and improved referral systems. Together, these efforts are helping communities embrace a future where equality is practiced every day.
Through implementing this approach, there are key aspects that must be considered.
